Do you have a wing-loving dad? We’ve got you covered with easy tips for creating a Father’s Day wing feast!
Perfectly crispy chicken wings do not have to come from a fryer. With these simple tips, we will show you how to get the crispiest wings straight off the Big Green Egg, no grease involved!
At least one hour before cooking your wings, take them out of the package, place them on a baking sheet and pat them with a paper towel until completely dry. Place the wings in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook.
After at least an hour, take the chicken wings out of the refrigerator and season. You can season the wings simply with just salt and pepper, or use any of the six Big Green Egg Seasonings or your favorite BBQ seasoning. We suggest tossing the wings in a little butter first to make the seasoning stick better, and remember to apply the seasoning liberally. Have fun with it and try a few different flavors … the possibilities are endless!
There are two ways we suggest cooking chicken wings on an EGG: direct or indirect. Cooking chicken wings over direct flames usually takes less time and will add more char on the skin. Indirect cooking will take a bit longer and the wings will have less char. Try both methods to discover your favorite!
If dry-rubbed wings is your preference, you can start eating now! But the last – and yummiest – step is to add a sauce or topping to the wings. If you love your wings saucy, try the Big Green Egg Barbecue Sauces or the Big Green Egg Hot Sauces.
